WSCC has confirmed that Jackson Civil Engineering has been appointed to construct the National Cycle Network Route 2 (part) scheme along the A259 between Flansham and Climping.
A number of activities will be taking place before the construction commences:
- Final grass cutting along the length of the scheme from Wednesday, 16th August lasting approximately three to four days. A short section near the Oystercatcher Pub area will be completed on Tuesday, 29th August as it requires the use of temporary traffic lights control during off-peak period. Some traffic queues are expected;
- Trial holes and surveys will start from Tuesday, 29th August;
- Installation of advanced signing about this scheme, A259 Littlehampton Corridor Improvements and A284 Lyminster Bypass schemes will start from Tuesday, 29th August; and
- Variable message signs confirming the start date for construction will be installed from Monday, 11th September.
The construction will begin week commencing Monday, 18th September and it will take around six months to complete, weather permitting.
