WSCC is asking for comments on proposals to improve the A259 between Chichester and Bognor. This is what they have sent to interested people/stakeholders.
We are writing to update you on our proposals to improve transport facilities on the A259 between Chichester and Bognor Regis. Following an initial engagement period earlier this year, we have developed feasibility design proposals for the route. By encouraging more walking and cycling, particularly for shorter journeys such as trips to education, and improving public transport, we can help to create safer, more pleasant places in which to live, work and do business. The scheme would provide improvements on the A259 corridor between its junctions with A27 at Chichester and Charles Purley Way (Felpham Relief Road) junction (including to Shripney Lane). The proposed scheme, which is part of the council’s broader transport strategy to support a sustainable economy and address climate concerns includes improved junctions, bus priority lanes, enhanced bus stops, more space for cyclists and pedestrians, and new crossing points. Have your say. You can find out more about these suggested improvements by visiting https://yourvoice.westsussex.gov.uk/a259-chichester-bognorregis where you can also have your say by completing our on-line survey. This engagement period will close at 23:55 on Monday 11 November 2024.
